This is a phrase I use alot. In any situation where a normal person would commend someone for doing something clever, I say "Yay! You get a cupcake!" Anyway, in case you were wondering, that was just a random piece of semi-useless information. The only bearing it has on this post, is that I made cupcakes yesterday. What's more, I make filled cupcakes. There is this delicious pastry filling recipe that I have that is pretty much amazing. They turned out yummy.

Maggie's latest thing is quite funny. Whenever she tries to do something semi-difficult for her she says "Don hep me! I tan do it mysef! if you get anywhere near her. Then, after struggling for about two minutes she says "Thissy, tan you hep me? I tan't do it.". This process gets repeated about five times a day.

On to other things; my employers got a couple of cats. I dislike them and I'm a little more than sure that they dislike me. They make the house much messier and Tuesday was the first day they didn't try to kill me while I carried the vacuum down the stairs. Maybe our relationship will improve. But I doubt it. I'm just not a cat person, sorry. Wait, hold that, I'm not sorry. These are the only kind of cats I like:

In reading news, I'm currently reading several books. Dumbing us Down, about education in America. The Order of the Phoenix and Brisinger, both fiction. Prayer, about... you guessed it. But the book that I'm reading with the most interest is a book I got from the library entitled The Art of the Infinite; The Pleasures of Mathematics. I'm only about one quarter of the way through it, but I'm already fascinated by the abstract principles it presents that I hadn't really been acquainted with. Why didn't they teach me this in high school? Anyway, you should read it if that sort of thing interests, and especially if it doesn't.

Elspeth has posted a ghastly review of the Elsie Dinsmore books which just begs to be contended with. Ellie and I have had an ongoing debate over the past month and a half or so, ever since I first bashed them in passing in my post criticising women authors, about these books and has now come out in staunch defense of them. I resist, on the grounds that besides being a bunch of fluff, the books promote numerous character traits which I find appalling. A response to her post will be forthcoming.
I think that pretty much sums up all the happenings here in Oregon for the time being. Oh, it started raining again in full force this morning. If you call that news.
Love and peace! (*snicker*)
