Daniel Turns 14

My brother Daniel is six years younger than me and was the baby of the family for eleven years before Maggie was born. He turned 14 this year. He and I have a special tradition. Every year, for his birthday, he tries to think up the most difficult cake imaginable to decorate, and I meet his challenge. This year he asked for a Star Wars cake and this is what he got:

I post a picture only because I don't think it's quite horrible enough for cake wrecks. I spent a good deal of time looking at floor plans for the Millennium Falcon and I now know more than I ever wished to about said ship. Same goes for Tie Fighters. In case you're curious you can find last year's cake here and the year before that here.
Daniel informed me, upon seeing the finished cake "You are the awesomest person ever!" Why thank you, Daniel, I quite agree.
The P. family came over to celebrate with us. I love this picture because it reminds me of an impressionist painting. There are so many people in it doing different things.
Danny got a rifle. He sure looks happy to me!
Gabe seems to think it's pretty cool as well.

The little girls get on so well.

The little boys... not so much.
But they get over it quickly.
And begin scheming again immediately.

The boys discussing Tommy.

So, a good time was had by all and we all wish Daniel a lovely year!

  5. That was such a fun party...thanks for inviting us!
By the way, you must post a picture of Maggie doing her eyebrow thing- that's just too funny.

And whatever you do, don't let anything happen to that picture of Jerome and Wally!! That's going to be hilarious in 15 years;)
