Dresses, sunburn, and such.

Ellie, my Maid of Honor and Silas's sister, sent me a picture of her dress for the wedding which she recently finished. This note accompanied the picture:

"Thanks for getting married so I could have a new dress.
Oh, yeah, and thanks for picking my brother."

Ladies and Gentlemen, there is no doubt in my mind that I am marrying into the right family. And that I am going to have the coolest sister-in-laws ever.

Oh, and you can see her dress on her blog.

As you may or may not have noticed, I am blogging mid-vacation. The reason for this being that the campground has wifi! How awesome is that? Very awesome. Not as awesome as the fact that I am going to be Silas's wife in 18 days. But close. (No, not really, not even remotely close.)

I've been having lots of fun swimming, hiking, snorkeling, playing volleyball, and discovering what happens when I don't wash my hair for 5 days. And I've done some not so fun things, too. Like sleeping on the ground because I forgot/didn't have time to pack an air mattress and getting burnt to an absolute crisp.

As Ellie said, we all knew this latter calamity was coming. It happens every time I'm out in the sun for more than thirty minutes at a stretch. I never learn. I talked to Silas about this. He sunburns too, only, he's intelligent enough to stay out of the sun. (To which I say POPPYCOCK!!!) But as long as he's cool with applying aloe to my back while I lay motionless and complain several times a summer for the rest of our lives, I guess I can deal with him being smarter than me.

Off to go do something stupid. I LOVE CAMPING! Peace out.

  3. Ellie has absolutely no right to tease us ultra-white people with tales of her tanness. It's just not fair!
