How we enjoy Fall.

I'm feeling that way I feel when Summer slides into Fall. I wear bright leggings under my skirts and take pleasure in my sweaters that conceal those extra baby pounds.
Thursday was the last day of the Farmer's Market in our Seattle neighborhood. There were squashes, pumpkins, peppers, eggplant, corn, honey crisp apples and the last of the blackberries. Gideon and I split a bear claw. For dinner that night I put a chicken, eggplant, and corn in my dutch oven with some olive oil and salt and roasted the whole thing for a couple hours. I drank a pumpkin ale with dinner and thought about all the pumpkin things I've made since the onset of October.
So far the list consists of pumpkin butter, pumpkin curry soup, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin sauce, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and roast pumpkin seeds. I think that's it... We can't get enough of those roasted pumpkin seeds.

One day last week I decided we were ignoring everything that needed to get done at home and spending the day out. We ate doughnuts at Top Pot and then went to the Ballard Locks. Gideon loves to watch the boats. Or as he informed me while we were there "Notta boat. Ship, Mommy." Ok then.
We split a basket of fish and chips at the stand by the locks and Gideon enjoyed his soda - a rare treat for him and probably his favorite thing to put in his mouth. Zeke hung out in the Ergo the whole time, happily taking in the world.
The relationship between Gideon and Ezekiel is really blossoming. It brings me so much joy to see them talk to each other. Gideon is always telling Zeke about the things he is interested in and trying to show Zeke how to do stuff. Gideon thinks he's really funny. Zeke doesn't think Gideon is quite as funny as Gideon thinks he is.
Happy Fall from the Sniders!
