Photo Walk

The weather has turned rainy here in Seattle. I didn't think it would bother me much as I've lived in Pittsburgh and near Portland which rank #4 and #2 on the cloudiest cities in the USA. But it turns out the complete lack of windows on the right side of our house (town home, yo) is turning out to be a problem. I feel sluggish, tired, sad, and did I mention exhausted? So this afternoon while Zeke and Gideon were napping at home with Silas I took off for a photo walk.
When I first moved to Pittsburgh I did a photo walk through my neighborhood. You can see those photos here. It kind of makes my heart sad to see my old neighborhood and to be so far away. Or, I don't know, maybe it's the weather speaking again. Buy anyway, I stepped over Gideon's trike that was blocking the back gate and headed out.
Never leave the house without my trusty Danskos! Unless, that is, I leave the house in my Birkenstocks.
 First stop? Coffee.

Kaffeeklatsch is pretty much my favorite coffee shop ever. Lucky for me, it's only a few blocks from my house
There is a whole case of delicious goodies. But my favorite pastry is only made on the weekends...
 The goods.
Look at that baby. Mmmmmmm.

 Oh, hey awkwardly-named-local-hamburger-chain!
This is my favorite place to take Gideon on a date. You just can't beat a "ham-merger" for making a 2yr. old happy. It works pretty well for a 23yr. old too.
This sculpture is just a hop away from the burger joint. And it's surrounded by park benches! The perfect place to enjoy some noms.
These crows are everywhere right now. Also, Gideon calls this sculpture the "sucker bowl".
This is such a weird intersection.
Love this little second hand shop. I had two scores there today!
I've been wanting to pick this up for awhile anyway and I just couldn't say "no" to this charming cover.
These little metal planes gave Gideon the biggest smile! And I got a "TANK YOU, MOMMY!" out of it.
Passed this fire hydrant on my way home. I love these for some reason.

Self portrait. But it cuts off my hair. My hair is now past my waist for the first time ever. Yay prenatals!
It's a lot to deal with, though. It's a pain to wash, it tangles like crazy, and I have no idea what to do with it. Any tips on taking care of super long hair?
Fall colors are gorgeous. So here's to hoping those full spectrum light bulbs arrive on schedule tomorrow!
